Dubai, Sept 27: Adding another feather to his well-decorated cap, Indian men's cricket team captain Virat Kohli became the first batter from the country to cross the 10,000 runs mark in the T20 format.

Kohli achieved this mark while batting for Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Dubai International Stadium.

The RCB captain completed 10,000 runs in the T20 format in the fourth over of the innings as he smashed a four and then a six in two consecutive deliveries of Jasprit Bumrah. Kohli is the fifth batter to make 10,000 T20 runs.

Harshal Patel's hat-trick and three-wicket haul by Chahal helped RCB defend 165 and defeat MI by 54 runs here at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. Earlier, Maxwell and Virat Kohli scored 56 and 51 as RCB posted 165/6 in the allotted twenty overs. Srikar Bharat also played a knock of 32 runs from 24 balls. RCB will next lock horns against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday in the ongoing IPL.
