Hosts India enjoyed a dream run in the Women's World Boxing Championships taking place in Delhi with Saweety Boora, Nikhat Zareen, Nitu Ghanghas, and Lovlina Borgohain clinching gold medals at Women's World Boxing Championships. This means India bagged four gold medals at the World Boxing Championships.

Nine years after a heartbreaking loss in the final in the 2014 edition in the Canadian city of Edmonton, Saweety Boora in the 81-kg category won gold medal.

 
 
She defeated China's Wang Lina in the summit clash at Delhi's Indira Gandhi arena.
 
Lovlina Borgohain

 
Lovlina Borgohain secured her first gold at the competition after settling for bronze in the 2018 and 2019 edition. The Tokyo Olympics bronze-winner added a fourth gold to India's tally when she edged past two-time Commonwealth Games medallist, Australia's Caitlin Parker 5-2 by a split decision, in the 75kg middle-weight category.
 
 

 
Nikhat Zareen

 
The reigning World Champoion, Nikhat Zareen successfully defending her crown in the 50kg light flyweight division. She defeated two-time Asian champion Nguyen Thi Tam of Vietnam 5-0 to bag the gold.
 

 
Courtesy her title win, she also became only the second Indian female boxer to have two more than one Worlds gold to her name after the legendary MC Mary Kom. Mary Kom has claimed a record six gold in the competition.
 

 
Nitu Ghanghas

 
Nitu Ghanghas beat Mongolia's Lutsaikhan Altansetseg 5-0 to seal the title. Having won a gold medal in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, this triumph puts Ghangas on top of Indian boxing prospects as far as the 2024 Paris Olympics are concerned.
 

 
With this, this year edition would be India's best ever performance in the tournament's history after being tied when the country won four golds in the 2006 edition, which also took place in Delhi.
