Revealed! Why MI captain Rohit Sharma wasn't present for pre-season photoshoot of IPL 2023

After Mumbai Indians shared a clip of their captain Rohit Sharma smashing a six in the nets in a practice session, his absence during the all-captains' meet and photoshoot has left the fans baffled. The event saw the gathering of all IPL captains except one – the most successful of them all, Rohit, which led to a massive outburst on Twitter.

 

 

A day before the start of the season, the IPL captains gathered in Ahmedabad to take part in the pre-season photoshoot. Dhoni and Pandya were in already in Ahmedabad while the rest of the captains had to take a flight to the city.

 

However, Rohit Sharma was not part of it. The MI franchise also didn't send any other player for the photoshoot. The Times of India has reported that Rohit is unwell and couldn't travel to the city. He will be fit for MI's first game of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2.

 

A report according to Times of India has stated that Rohit was not keeping well because of which he couldn't travel to Ahmedabad to join his compatriots. "He was unwell and thus could not travel to Ahmedabad for the pre-IPL captains' meeting and photoshoot. He is, however, likely to be available for MI's opening game in IPL-2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2,” a source was quoted as saying by TOI.

 

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will have a blockbuster start as defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT), will square off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening game at the Narendra Modi Stadium from 7:30 PM IST.
