Kohli became the latest cricketer to be invited for the ceremony. Former players like Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni have also been invited for the ceremony. On January 13, Tendulkar received the invitation at his residence in Mumbai, while Dhoni was invited on January 15.

It will be interesting to see whether Kohli can make it to the ceremony or not. There is a Test series starting on January 25 between India and England at home, just three days later. Kohli can still make time and attend the ceremony, then hop back to Hyderabad for the match.

As Ayodhya gears up for the landmark ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged all 'Ram Devotees' to not flock to the city on the day of consecration, saying the public can visit the temple once the formal program is finished on January 22.

Kohli made a return to the shortest format of the game after a gap of over 14 months when India took on Afghnistan in a three-match T20I series.
