Ind vs Eng: ODI debut for Krunal and International debut for Krishna

Pune, Mar 23: With the first ODI kick-starting here at Maharashtra Cricket Association will full of surprises, both India and England are set to claim the victory. Out of all surprises, one such is Krunal Pandya and Prasidh will be making their debut against England in the first ODI here at Pune.

 

Krunal Pandya and fast bowler Prasidh Krishna have been handed over their ODI caps. Pandya has played T20Is for India, this will be his first tryst with ODI cricket. Whereas, Krishna will play his first match for India across formats. Pandya could be seen getting emotional after he was handed the ODI cap as his father passed away not long ago.

 

 

KL Rahul is back with the keeping gloves and will bat at No.5, meaning there is no Rishabh Pant in the side. Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar are also not included in the side as Virat Kohi has decided to bring back Kuldeep Yadav in the side. He will lead India's spin attack and will have debutant Krunal Pandya for company. Besides, England has won toss and opt to bowl first against India in the first ODI in Pune.

 

Speaking of the pitch, Ajit Agarkar and Deep Dasgupta said, "Sounds firm, it will carry through to the keeper well. The wind picks up in the evening here so that might help the due keep away. Defending can be difficult here, expect a lot of runs."
