Phenomenal show by India! Aman Gulia and Sagar Jaglan are new World Cadet champions

Budapest, July 22: Young wrestlers Aman Gulia and Sagar Jaglan emerged the new world champions in their respective categories as India dished out an impressive show on the second day of the Cadet World Championship.

Gulia emerged winner with a convincing 5-2 win over American Luke Joseph Lilledahl in 48kg final while Jaglan blanked James Mockler Rowley 4-0 in the 80kg summit clash. Besides, Sahil won bronze in the 110kg by pinning Kazakhstan's Alikhan Kussainov inside the first two-minute period.

Gulia conceded only three points en route the title.The American, being taller, had better reach but Aman adjusted his game nicely and kept attacking his rival.Aman led 3-0 when Luke pulled off a take down to narrow the lead but the Indian wrestler came up with a take down move of his own to pull away.
 
 
Jaglan's defence was solid as he did not let the American make any attacking move and scored points with push outs. Vaibhav Patil lost his bronze medal play-off 5-7 to Azerbaijan's Javid Javadov in 55kg.

On the other hand, Jaskaran Singh settled for a silver medal while Chirag and Jaideep grabbed a bronze each in the ongoing 2021 World Cadet Wrestling Championship here at Budapest on Wednesday.
