All thanks to driver Sushil Kumar and conductor Paramjeet who were present at the site and rescued the wicketkeeper-batsman right on time rather than taking videos or pictures which has become unfortunately a trend these days. They had halted their bus when they noticed the car accident and rushed to him. They took away Pant from the burning car, wrapped him with a bedsheet and then called an ambulance.

Near Hammadpur Jhal, on the Roorkee-Narsan boundary, Rishabh Pant's car struck the divider. Pant, who was alone in the car, suffered injuries on his back, forehead and leg. Images from the accident showed the car in a gutted state.

"As we dragged him (Rishabh Pant) out, the car caught fire and burned down within 5-7 seconds. He had major injuries on his back. We enquired about his personal information and that is when he said he is an Indian team cricketer," Paramjeet said.

Former cricketer VV S Laxman took to Twitter to thank the Haryana Roadways staff who helped Rishabh Pant following his car accident. "Gratitude to Sushil Kumar, a Haryana Roadways driver who took Rishabh Pant away from the burning car, wrapped him with a bedsheet and called the ambulance. We are very indebted to you for your selfless service, Sushil ji Real Hero".

"Also special mention to the bus conductor, Paramjit who along with Driver Sushil helped Rishabh. Very grateful to these selfless guys who had great presence of mind and a big heart. Gratitude to them and all who helped," Laxman added.

Further, Haryana Roadways on Friday honoured its driver Sushil Kumar and conductor Paramjeet for rescuing cricketer Rishabh Pant. "Bus driver Sushil Kumar and conductor Paramjeet spotted an uncontrolled car ram over the divider near Gurukul Narsan. They ran towards the car to help the passenger. We have honoured them, state govt will too honour them for the work of humanity," said Panipat Bus Depot general manager K Jangra.

The two have been receiving high praises on social media for their valiant efforts. "Heros come in all sizes and shapes!!," a user said. "People like Sushil again showed humanity is still alive," another user said.

According to a statement by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rishabh's condition is stable. He has now been sent to the Max Hospital in Dehradun, where he will have an MRI to determine the full extent of his injuries and determine the next steps in his care.
