Mumbai, April 19: Rarest of the rare was witnessed on Monday night when Rajasthan Royals locked horns against Kolkata Knight Riders. But, it was RR who showed the grit and determination in the end and won against KKR by 7 runs. It was great night for Jos Butler and Yuzvendra Chahal as he scored a century and a five-wicket haul including a hat-trick respectively. This is Rajasthan's fourth win in six matches.
Chasing a mammoth target of 218, Kolkata Knight Riders did fight till the end and the match was decided in the last over. However, Obed McCoy held his nerves in the last over as KKR needed just 11 runs but the RR pacer dismissed Sheldon Jackson and Umesh to guide Rajasthan to a seven-run win. This win has taken Rajasthan to the second spot in the points table.
The match was a cliff-hanger where the pendulum tilted from one team to another as Kolkata Knight Riders were sailing through at one stage reaching the triple-figure mark in just 8.3 overs with Shreyas Iyer and Aaron Finch batting at the crease. But wickets from Chahal, Ashwin and Prasidh Krishna brought Sanju Samson led Rajasthan Royals back in the game.
