Dubai, Sept 12: It was a historic night scripted on Sunday night as a brilliant half-century from Bhanuka Rajapaksa and fiery spells from spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and pacer Pramod Madushan helped Sri Lanka to lift its sixth Asia Cup title, defeating Pakistan by 24 runs in the final.
Sri Lanka, a country that is facing a severe economic crisis and lost its hosting rights just before the Asia Cup commenced, has made its country and people proud. All the cricket fans are appreciating the victory that happened in such circumstances and the fact that they were not even close to being favourites.
However, it seems that there is another country that is happy with their win against Pakistan to the extent that the firecrackers are being burst. On social media, videos are surfacing of Afghans who are celebrating "Pakistan's loss". Hundreds of Afghan people took to the streets and cheered with joy by dancing after Sri Lanka’s win.
People also took to social media to congratulate Sri Lanka on their win and also to poke fun at the Pakistani team`s performance in the final, especially while fielding.

However, there were also instances where Pakistani fans raised pro-Taliban slogans in the stadium during the Asia Cup final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
