New Delhi, May 3: In yet another development, cricketer Mohammed Shami’s wife has moved the Supreme Court against a Calcutta High Court order dismissing her plea seeking to lift stay on the arrest warrant against her husband.

This came after a sessions court in West Bengal had stayed the arrest warrant issued against Shami. The cricketer’s wife, Hasin Jahan, through her counsels Deepak Prakash, Nachiketa Vajpayee and Divyangna Malik Vajpayee, Tuesday challenged the Calcutta HC’s March 28 order whereby her prayer for quashing the session court order was dismissed.

In her plea, Jahan alleged that Shami was having “illicit extra-marital relations and was engaged in sexual activities”, while on his BCCI tours, “in the hotel rooms provided by the BCCI even till the present day”.

“When the Petitioner raised her voice against it, she was assaulted and harassed by her husband and his family members, who also constantly demanded dowry from her,” she added.
