Rahul Gandhi, who is on a trip to USA, has been attending several public functions there and has erupted controversies for anti-India comments. One of Rahul's comments did not go down well with Aakash.

"I’m yet to see an opposition leader from another country coming to India and painting a sorry image of his country. Why do you need to articulate that on foreign land unless you’re seeking some sorta support??? Fight your battles in your own country…allow the electorate to decide…isn’t that the very essence of democracy?" Aakash Chopra tweeted.

Aakash isn't associated with any political party. The right-handed batsman played 10 Tests for Team India from 2003 to 2004. He donned a total of 162 first-class and 65 List A caps. Aakash played 21 T20s and was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the initial years of IPL.

Aakash took up commentary after his retirement from the game and is the face of Hindi commentary. He was part of the commentary panel for the IPL 2023, which concluded on May 29.

He won't be commentating on the World Test Championship final, scheduled to be played from June 7 to 11 at The Oval. Aakash played for Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan in domestic cricket.
