As the news spread like wildfire, fans became curious about the meaning behind the name.

What does Akaay mean?

The word 'Akaay' is derived from the Sanskrit. In Sanskrit 'kaaya' means ‘form or shape’. So Akaay means something infinite, without any particular shape, and immortal. Similarly, in Hindu religion, "Bhagwan Shiva" is considered formless. It is a unique and meaningful name that reflects the couple's cultural roots and love for traditional Indian names.

Their first child Vamika was had also cultural roots and named after none other than Goddess Durga, one of the major deities in Hinduism. The name is also associated with the deity Vamadeva who is the preserving/nurturing aspect of Devi Durga’s husband, Bhagwan Shri Shiva.

The couple tied the knot in 2017, after several years of dating.
