New York, June 10: In a nail-biting match, Team India scripted history as it registered a thrilling six-run victory over Pakistan in a high-stakes ICC T20 World Cup clash on Sunday. Defending a modest target of 120 runs, India restricted Pakistan to 113/7 in their 20 overs, marking the lowest total ever defended in the tournament's history.

This feat ties with Sri Lanka's record from the 2014 T20 World Cup, where they defended 120 against New Zealand, bowling them out for just 60 runs.

1. The target of 120 is also the lowest India have successfully defended in a full 20-over game in men's T20Is. The previous lowest was 139 against Zimbabwe in 2016 in Harare.

2. India's head-to-head record against Pakistan in Men's T20 World Cups came at 7-1, including one win via bowl-out in 2007. Their only defeat against Pakistan came in the 2021 edition in Dubai.
